Summer's ski season (Newsday)
It wasn't all that long ago that there wasn't anything quite so forlorn as a ski resort in the summer. Eerily deserted lodges surrounded by vast, vacant parking lots. Sinister-looking lift towers stalking their way upwards through unkempt, brushy fields.
